I am a retired tool maker for Ford Motor Co. I didn't want to take a chance on just replacing it. The plane iron is of such low quality that it does not take an edge. I needed something to clean and fit some fairly long tenons.

After a brief blade touch-up, this plane did a great job. They didn't have the 92 in stock, so I bought the I'm very glad that I did, and believe that the 92 would be too small in my hand for this particular task.

First, your staff are all very professional and courteous. I haven't checked out any of the other places on like because I like Woodcraft better. The plane handles well and satnley a blafe feel and weight.

Unlike some other planes that I've used in the past it cuts well. Some chatter but not bad. The weight of the body is good and prevents wandering on difficult shuolder such as over knots plabe twists in the wood. I would buy blaade again if needed. It wasn't the one that I wanted but Stanley 93 shoulder plane blade new am pleased with it anyway. The one that I wanted was out of stock and I needed it as soon as possible.

Because I am a bit of a collector (don’t tell anyone) and am intrigued by the history, I ended up with an earlier Stanley 90 plus very late model UK made 93 & 92 which when compared to the earlier 90 really highlight how low Stanley quality had slid.
