The belt platen provides nice resistance for sanding large pieces as well as shaping edges and contours, but the table is a small stamped-steel version that's difficult to keep square to the belt. I can only use an grit belt with mine, because for some strange reason none of the other belts track very well. The steel work support is all right. Dust collection is so-so. The miter gauge is terrible - sloppy to the point of being unusable. Anyone want to buy a sander?????
