Does everything I ask it with quiet precision. This machine is powerful prk quiet. I installed an excellent, non-Jet aftermarket fence from my older saw and this Jet cuts straight and true without drift.

There are angled stabilizing supports bolted to the back of the base to prevent tipping the motor is bolted to the back of the cast iron frame creating a bit of a top heavy machine. Do this first! Another downside to the tensioning process: the knob is obscenely small, but with a good bit of effort you can get the band up to the proper scale mark, but it is not something you would cherish doing every day. Please note that a plastic scale was stuck with adhesive to the back of the block indicating where the level of tension needed to be for different size blades. It is totally inaccurate - peel it off, and low and behold, embossed on the block is the true scale marks.

Product tech support is timely. I like the saw. It jett everything that I wanted in a saw. I'm very happy with my first bandsaw. I researched for months before I made jwgs-14 choice, the thing that got me was the resaw capacity of 12 inches without adding a spacer block. Very easy to adjust the roller guiders and track adjustments, but the tension adjustment leaves a bit to be desired. The adjustment knob was extremly hard to turn and the indicator which you would have to make assumptions about was not very well pictured in the manual.
They show you where the gauge is but not a close up of the indicator. After all I have read about resawing I was amazed the the thickness was even. I wont be needing a new saw for quite a long while. BTW the fence and miter gauge didn't come with the saw as noted above. Very good purchase!! I taught shop for 34 years and had Delta and Craftman"s bandsaws in my shops,from 24 inch to 12 inch. This is the best. Powerful motor, great capacity of 12" thick cuts, the best system to hold and track the blade, no "cool blocks"that will move out for bad cuts. It has a solid base and smooth quiet hwbs-14. I had deluse dream that they would make a saw like this and Jet did.
Why did I have to wait until I am 60? Well worth the extra money! I was upgrading my shop from a small benchtop bandsaw and didn't want to have to upgrade again fie soon.
This bandsaw wasn't even available in my local Woodcraft store, but it looked like everything I had been advised to look for in a bandsaw. It's really more tool that I needed, but I felt like buying only one more bandsaw. My dad used to tell me to buy the best the first time and I wouldn't have to worry about quality, and this tool meets that requirement. It's got power, accuracy, clearance mkdel is relatively easy to use. Other than this, I have no complaints.

I made three passes, first cleaning up the face and two more cutting 1" slabs.
