I'll keep trying but disappointed so far. I received this thing about 5 minutes ago. I put the battery in, turned it on and it has lots of vacuum.

After using it about 3 minutes the filter was already stopped up and vacuum was gone. When I went to unload the dirt it had less than a handful of dirt.

I tapped the filter until it seemed clean and tried it again. Same thing, 2 or 3 minutes at best. Update; After messing with this thing for a little while I found a plastic tag hung up in the hose. After removing the tag the cleaner does everything I was hoping for and more. I just have to remember the hose on top is smaller than a regular cleaner and will stop up on larger things so pick some things up then vacuum.

I changed the rating from 2 stars to 5 stars. Happy with the performance of this vacuum, those reporting it has no suction must have a defective product or unrealistic expectations. First the cons: it's bigger than your standard cordless, but it's built for a wider range of uses. It's a bit loud for a battery vac, but more important that it works. The debris container is not as large as maybe it should be, and it has a lip on it which traps small debris when emptying the container.

You'll have to turn in right upside-down and give it a shake in many cases. The filter is quite large and good, but that means the folds are quite deep and trap a lot of dust. Cleaning the filter really good can be a little difficult without air tools depending on the type of debris, shaking it works to get a lot of it out but sends a lot of dust into the air.

Definitely do this off customer site and make sure it's clean to start with. There is no blower option in this model which would have been nice. The best thing is it uses Dewalt 20V batteries so if you have some of these for your tools you are all set. That means unlike most cordless vacuums when the battery has reached its end of life, you don't need to throw out the vacuum, you just get a new battery.

The batteries are very good unlike the cheap crap in some cordless models and they have enough power to provide a lot of suction with the motor in this relatively small package.

It's bigger than your typical cordless vacuum, but it works well with standard 1. As with all bagless vacuums clean up is messy no matter what the manufacturer says. Needless to say, keep the filter clean for best performance. Overall this is a very portable unit, that has very good performance. Since it uses Dewalt 20V packs that should make it compatible with the new super capacity FlexVolt packs.

You would be emptying the bin more than a dozen times before draining a pack like that, maybe 50 times. Still using a spare Dewalt Plate Joiner Cordless Oled regular 20V pack is probably more versatile and economical for most people. Overall a great battery operated small vacuum, and a great addition to the Dewalt 20V system. A little disappointing compared to other Dewalt cordless purchases I've made. Pros: Uses same 20v battery as other Dewalt tools. Removable hose is handy for tight area the front nozzle won't fit into.

Filter and dirt bucket are easy Dewalt Plate Joiner Cordless Car to remove, empty and clean. Can use smaller Dewalt batteries if your only 20v is in use elsewhere and you just need a quick cleanup. Blower in motor blasts air forwards out of side vents, which often affects the stuff you're trying to vacuum up. Weight distribution is odd and feels unbalanced. It's also heavy for such a compact unit with battery on.

Wish list: I wish it had a thinner nozzle that attaches to the loose hoe end for tighter spaces or even a telescoping one. Similarly, wish there was a bristle brush attachment for hose end when loose.

Overall it's just okay. Suction power is a bit on the weak side. I would probably not buy this unit again knowing what I know about it now. It's odd, since the 20v Dewalt leaf blower is a gem of a tool and has so much more air power even if it is going the other direction! The 3rd time I used it the hose separated from the unit. I bought this to vacuum pet hair that accumulates on the stairs and in the corners of my house. It does this okay IF I can catch up to them. The problem with the design of this is that the ports where the air comes out blow air down. I find myself blowing the hair clumps all over the place and I have to chase them down. I'll probably attach a small barrier below the ports so that the air doesn't blow down. This is certainly something that should have been contemplated in the design of this tool.

I would have otherwise given it a five-star review. For those experiencing poor suction, check to be sure the hose is inserted securely into the yellow nozzle on the front. Out of the box, mine was loose, and of course, it's impossible to develop good suction that way. It's easy to see why some reviewers have claimed almost no suction, but properly configured, it's quite good.
