Solid and sturdy sits solid on the bench with out mounting. I even run them across the belt to really tear the wood down and have yet to snag the belt on the edge of the wood. I expect it to very handy for future projects good quality piece of machinery. Not a commercial machine but works fine for my needs. It is nice having all the shavings and dust collecting into one spot. It is really easy to use and a great value for the money. It has some serious power and looks sharp. Was extremely easy to set up in literally less than a minute. Have only used it 3 or 4 times thus far but has out performed the one i both at harborfreight. Never get a belt driven sander.

Well balanced and quiet sander. Dust collection is pretty cruddy, but that seems to be standard on all sanders anyhow. No complaints, seems to be a good tool for the low price. Seems to be a fair example of an inexpensive belt sander. Have used it in our shop for several hours on small jobs and had no problems. Easy belt changing, easy setup, easy use. Just what i needed for my hobby which needs a lot of sanding of wood in straight line and curves with angles. Supposed to be for wood, but i use it for metal mostly. There are many better options for knife making, but not really at this price point.

This is a nice sander but if you intend on hooking up a vacuum, forget it. The vacuum outlet ports are some oddball size and i have not been able to find a vacuum hose on the market that fits it. That is the biggest disappointment i have with this sander.

I would not recommend it due to that very reason alone. I bought 2 of these combo sanders mainly for the belt sander. We made a sanding station for our product with 2 different grit papers for production work. We added a vacuum system underneath to control and collect dust and plug all into a electrical box with an on — of switch for easy control of entire station. Pretty good small project machine. I reached out to bucktool for support in a saturday, and received an acknowledgement email that same day. A few days later i received a phone call from a real person. After we determined the issue would be easily resolvable with a new unit, bucktool sent me one right away.

My only criticism is the design. With the belt sander facing toward the front, the power switch is in the rear.

The belt sander should face the opposite direction. I ordered this after reading the many horror stories written by other reviewers about their belt drive models.

This bucktool uses a direct drive that makes it immune to those problems. It arrived with the miter gauge rattling around loose in the box.

No harm done, and it was easy to install the included belt. This will allow its built-in adjustable support leg to prevent a roll over disaster. So far, i have used this machine for light sanding on wood and metal materials without drama. If it turns out to last for a reasonable amount of time, i will award it an additional star. Definitely glad i bought this model, priced right. Because if the direct drive, this product is larger than necessary and a bit cumbersome.

The worst part for me is the trays are really flimsy and do not hold angles well at all. The miter gauge is also worthless. Because the table is so weak and flimsy, this sander is only good for free hand sanding. I suggest you buy something with positive locks and better angle measuring. Should you be considering the wen t, i strongly advise you to spend the extra money and purchase this bucktool bd I returned two defective wens then bit the bullet paying the increased cost.
