I bought it used and it had been stained with deck stain no!! I power washed and sanded most of it off but some just wouldn't budge. The dark walnut Danish oil gave the old teak a beautiful color and is dark enough to help hide the blemishes and remaining old stain. I did two coats and it went on easy and absorbed quickly.
