When cutting hardwoods, especially cherry, the struggle is to have a cutting speed fast enough to NOT burn and yet, slow enough to not bog the machine down.  After one use, the blade drifted off the tire and was done. I am pretty confident in my setup, alignment, and tension on the blade. As I inspected, I found that the seam was not straight and weld was poorly cleaned, causing the blade to rub inconsistently on the blocks, build heat, and warp (thus the drift).
