All they have to do is chuck up the bowl using a set of mini jumbo jaws and get mwple base flat so both sides are paralel to each other.

The speed is about rpms. That's not very fast but you need to decide what you're comfortable with. I turned the 36" bowl at about rpms after it was true. I see from the gears that that is your lathes slowest speed. It does not look very safe with that Burr with it spinning like a propeller. You say in another video you turned a 36 inch bowl. How did you manage the speed then? Wow — you weren't kidding when you said you were going to use your big lathe, huh?

Another good idea: see if you can buy enough topcoat polyurethane to fill something like a gallon drum with a lid and use the drum fot dip the bowl in there.
