I also need to replace the deteriorating foam in my Fein 9. Can you offer any more information on the type of foam you used? I think the vacuum can be safely used without any of the foam, since the purpose of the foam is Fein Turbo Vacuum 01 strictly sound proofing. But one of the nice things about this vacuum is how quiet it is, so I do want to try to replace this sound proofing. I wonder what impact, if any, the new foam had on the sound level.
