I'm just a man with his chisel I need more power I have a "Band" When I die, do not let my wife sell my tools for what I told her I paid for them! I have found that hand tools are the best choice when I want to make mistakes at a slower rate of speed.

There is nothing like the sound of a well tuned hand plane. Tools are only as good as the hands that hold them. Everything with a power cord eventually winds up in the trash.

Power tools are good for making stuff up's faster. Sometimes I like to go to the hardware store and run around with a screwdriver shouting, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a drill!

Measure twice, cut once, use wood filler for gaps. Measure twice, cut once, buy extra just in case. Don't measure cut heaps, make sawdust It will eventually fit. Just cut then measure and make everything else to fit. A what now? The measure of a man is how big his wood pile is???

General Rome wasn't built in a day But I wasn't on that job. I'll try to be nicer, if you'll try to be smarter. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching. I ask in order to learn. An expert at anything was once a beginner. It's not ability that we often lack, but the patience to use our ability.

I do not have attention deficit disor Regret- the feeling you get just after you do something really stupid. Everyday above ground is a good day!

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. I would drink a river of the kool aid before I took the smallest sip of the tea Sorry the reply is so long. I didn't have time to write a short reply.

There are two theories to arguing with a woman You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

With the building experience though, I must admit has helped on a various other projects. I was in for 7 odd years or so, I left around and became a builder and then a grahic artist, now a plastic fabricator as mentioned above. I have travelled and seen many parts of the world, and enjoyed every moment of it. Yes, I love making music. I am also a graphic artist which I enjoy.

Another passion is motorcycling. Did I mention woodworking? Well it can be about anything you want it to be. It is not here to be instructional as such, but if you learn something from it or get inspiration from it great let us know.

It's really just a blog. I get inspiration from the web this is my way of hoping maybe to inspire others. I have started uploading the odd video to our youtube channel. However I simply do not have time to do one every week or any particular time frame etc. I wouldn't call them education but more to be inspirational and entertainment.

Our Youtube channel can be found here. Being a New Zealander and most views for woodworking on youtube coming from the US Simple answer is I have done an off the cuff tour Simply put no Some I don't put up for various reasons.

Anyone who wants to read and view it really and get inspired by it. If it gives you inspiration which is what it is all about great, then it is done its job. Let me know if it does this for you? At present site maintenance and building of the site, hosting and domain name come out of my own pocket. There are no sponsers. I do not do this as a job or as an income but rather a hobby. Well first off, thank you.

Since I don't have any products to sell to support this site, the best way is to spread the word, like and post this site to social media sites or link to it on your site if you have one I am not a big fan of asking for likes and links but really that is the best way at present.

Would you make anything on commission? The thought of having to make stuff to a schedule or within a time frame would put me off doing it and I would lose the enjoyment of woodworking as has happened before with my graphic artistry. No, many of the bigger projects, like the coffin , speakers , and bed end trunk have been a joint effort with Hayd3n.

Most of the smaller projects yes I do I my own. I enjoy working with others, and as well sometimes working on my own. However since I started youtube The inter-web thingy. I enjoy Steve at Woodworking for Mere Mortals.

The Heart Tray. I also enjoy watching Laney from A simple design of Ocala where I got the idea of the plant trolley base and a few others scattered around the web.

A few things are my own design, cribbage board , coffin , bed end trunk , speakers , speaker stands , triangle coffee table , plant stand , head board etc. Well for a long time I lived in a inner city flat and had no where to tinker on anything, no garage or basement. When we bought our house it needed a few things to be done.

So I bought a few tools No not really most are off the cuff and made up as I go along. Though I may have a basic idea what we are after. The Outdoor bar is a perfect example of off the cuff design. I can not really answer that question, as woodworking is such a varied hobby. Do you want to turn wood, do scroll sawing, furniture making. You first need to decide what you want to make. From there start to buy the basic tools you need to do this.

Also are you wanting to learn the art of hand tools or are you going to want power tools. You also have to think where you are going have your shop and the limitations of space etc. But if you are wanting to make furniture then well that is a whole different kettle of fish. I am not brand specific and use anything as long as if it does what I ask and what I bought it for.

Click here. I get most of my wood from scrounging, auctions, being given it and or finding it and recycling it.

The odd occasion I do buy some. Go for it, I don't see why not, just remember I borrowed some ideas off other people, example the heart tray and some ideas are my own like the cribbage board. The idea of this site is to inspire others to go and make something Interesting question, many are given away as gifts and some were built or made by request, and others are still in use around the house and of course the DIY projects were built for a purpose and are still exactly where I built them Most projects are made out of needing them or made for a purpose.

I am doing this purely for fun and to share some info to give back to the community. I have no intention as of yet to do this full time. So it means I have a full time job and other hobbies. The video's will be done when I have time, money energy and a project that will make a good ish video. But I am hoping on average every couple of weeks have a video. Why do you always wear a bandana?

It is a carry over from work to be honest. I work as a plastic fabricator and sometimes it can get very very dusty, so I wear the bandana to keep the dust out of my hair. What little hair I have left Simple answer is no. For a start there are way to many channels out there. Also I simply don't want to flood my youtube feed and miss stuff because I am subscribe to all. And finally if I watch all then I would never get into my shop.. The main reason is to water mark the video to help fight any free booting of video's which happens a lot on youtube.

You may start seeing the logo else where on the through out the shop as well. Free booting is where a creator like myself uploads a video to somewhere like youtube for you to watch However some one then comes along and downloads the video, edits it so that you don't see the actual creator cuts out any intro and outro, re edits again with their intro and outro and re-uploads to their channel or other media like Facebook and makes it look like their creation.

Some of these videos have gone viral and made a bit of money and the original creator of the project and video gets nothing. So the logo watermark makes it harder to free boot. I may also put my logo of various things around the shop to help this as well. It means viewers can see that the video was made by Now I am a very small insignificant channel heck at the time of writing this I only have subscribers but I have learnt from other channels and what has happened to them.

I am not expecting any of my video's to be free booted, however one never knows. Hope for the best prepared for the worst. If you are meaning what "Content Management System" I use, then well, there basically is none. This site is all made and coded by me in Dreamweaver. So there is no theme, or database to hack or get corrupted.

There is no admin to log in to, to change this or that. It does use some trick php coding to make some things easier though. Most of those plans are either stolen or the original owner of the plan does not know that the are being listed. Some of the sites are genuine however, a lot are actually scams with stolen plans. So better to be safe than sorry of accidentally listing one that is a scam I decided to not list any of them.

The only adverts should be Google Adsense adverts on the lower left menu. There should not be any pop ups or pop unders etc. I am hoping that these adverts will create a little bit of cash flow to help me cover the costs of the host and domain name of the site. I am not expecting there to be much return at all to be honest, but anything helps.
