Those premade nas all cost way to much when compared to a pc with similar specs. For software for there are plenty of good options like freenas, open Hardware For Open Media Vault media vault, unraid etc. Don't use windows as a Nas OS.

What dryteletubby said. Furthermore, do you need transcoding on your Hzrdware Google transcoding Nas for more info and decide.
