Hello , You are correct, the drive belt is an extremely tight fit. You will need to start belt on the top and bottom edges of the pulleys and then slowly turn both pulleys while applying pressure on the belt to get it on the shafts. It will be a little difficult but take your time.

You will want to remove the pulley cover by taking out the four screws holding it to the motor. Then you will be able to see where the drive belt is positioned. There are 2 pulleys that the belt rides on. Work the belt on the pulleys. It will be tight, make sure the cogs on the belt line up with grooves on the pulleys.
