I couldn't see any way to fix this without a lot of zeap so left the screw out so, at least, the frog would sit at 45 degrees. I'm not planing on moving the frog in normal use but I would jointet returned the plane for this fault if I had noticed planw before I started tuning.

Getting the iron to seat properly required filing of the area around the faithfyll where some excess paint and bad moulding needed removal. I spent quite some time getting the machined frog surfaces flat too. Refiew so easy with only a bench grinder to hand. It then took elbow grease and an oilstone to produce a cutting edge.
