One other consideration is that it is oriented for mounting at the left hand end of a bench to optimise access to both belt and disk.

Definitely for light DIY. One of the few I have found that actually comes with the back guard on the belt which is a great help when squaring off items. Only one small gripe, the supplied belt had a bit of a ridge where it had been joined which tended to make life interesting when doing the sanding, but purchased some more belts which seem a lot better and I am now sanding anything I can get my hands on.

Do make sure you connect it to some sort of dust extraction system though as it does make a heck of a lot of very fine dust and will cover your shed or workshop in no time.

It's a pretty poor show really. Would I recommend this to others? Yes given the the standard of the main body and they were prepared to fiddle and modify the machine. One person found this helpful.
