This article is the ultimate guide to everything you want to know about tissue paper flowers. I folded tissue paper flowers four different ways below and the four resulting flowers look completely different!

I cut very large petals on the first flower and folded slightly thicker folds and the resulting flower is fluffy and larger scale. The second flower is the very classic scalloped edge. The third flower has pointy edges and the fourth flower has fringe-cut edges. Before fluffing the tissue paper between steps 4 and 5 above , tie a ribbon or fishing line around the middle of the folded tissue paper right where the staple is.

After you fluff the tissue paper, the string will be accessible for hanging. I love these clear Command Hooks affiliate link that are specially made for party decor.

I used them to hang the tissue paper flowers and paper lanterns in one corner of my craft room. See the photo below. Use masking or packing tape to attach flat-backed tissue paper flowers to the wall temporarily. If you would like to display the tissue paper flowers long-term, use push pins or Command Strips to attach them to the wall. Tape may come undone over time. Dollar Tree is my favorite place to buy tissue paper, but if you are planning to make a hundred tissue paper flowers for a wedding or something, I suggest buying it from Amazon because they have the best color selection.

The white star wheels on the roller bar may result in some foil transfer on your mat or material. To avoid this, move the star wheels to one side. I moved my years ago and have never moved them back. The smoother the better! This is design in my free resource library.

My leaf earrings also work great with faux leather and foil transfer sheets! The feather card is design in my free resource library. This project can be done with just the Cricut Foil Transfer Kit and a sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock. You can also change the color of the Foil layer to help you visualize how your project will look. Just click the Color box next to the Linetype menu.

You can also change your base material later by selecting it and then clicking on the color menu. I'm changing mine to black so I can see how the silver foil transfer will look on it:. No matter what you do, be sure to select everything and click Attach — your foil layer must be attached to your base layer along with your score layer :.

This is what my foil transfer card looked like in Cricut Design Space before moving on to the next step:. Check your Design Space screen to see exactly where the feather will be on your mat, then place your foil transfer strip in the same spot with plenty of margins. On my screen, the feather appears near the top of the mat between 7" and 9".

Tape all four sides of your foil transfer sheet to your cardstock, making sure that the tape will not cover any part of your design. Once your foil transfer sheet is taped, it's time to load your mat into your Cricut to begin the project! Watch the video to see how I did this!!

I use metallic vinyl on faux leather for some of my earring projects. Do you think it is worth the cost of buying the tool to switch to foiling? I am a huge believer in using the supplies you have and never buying anything that will be a financial strain. The new tool is very fun to use and I am glad I have it, so if it is something you think you will use, it might be worth buying for your projects.

I have been having trouble with my Cricut foil transfer kit. I did what was supposed to do, put it on custom, then choose my card stock, which was light cardstock. You barely see any foil at all. I put the dial on light cardstock, and it does transfer better, but you still barely see anything. Could it be that I need paper directly from Cricut? If not then Craft Smart. Hi Michael! I would set my material to a thicker cardstock like medium or heavy if you have the option.

I would like to foil on the spine of my Creative Memories scrapbook. I am not sure what the material setting would be used. Any ideas? Yes, you can absolutely use other brands of transfer tape. Over time, by trial and error, you will find which one you like the best! This was great information! How do I get rid of this. This should help! Hi Jennifer, Just finished making some of your feather foil cards.

A couple of hiccups on placement, but pretty good. The wording I put on my cards just did the outlines. Any tips to help me out? This will look best with a writing font! From there, you can choose any of these fonts and they should look much nicer! I like the love heart on your sample sheet showing the tip thickness fine medium and large.

Thank you for great tutorial! Question, can we foil on acrylic? I saw a video on youtube, but with Foil Quill from we r keepers, not cricut. Thank you! Hi Kay! I am not sure if you can! See if acrylic is an available material when you are selecting your material. First, you are absolutely amazing! Every time I have a question about something, your blog is the first place I go!

I was just wondering, since you are able to use velum as an option of material, have you tried using acetate? I just got my monthly Cricut mystery box and as soon as I saw the acetate, the foil popped in my head! I just tested the acetate, it did work but the longevity may not last that long. Using my finger nail I was able to easily scratch the foil off. I used, medium cardstock with more pressure as my setting on the Maker.

You could certainly try alternate settings like Kraftboard to see if deeper pressure allows for better results. Do you have any suggestions as how to work with precut cards? Is there a better way to go about it than just a simple guess? Hi Lisa! The easiest thing to do is create your design on the same size card in Design Space that you will physically have on your cutting mat. Once you get to the mat preview section, place your design to match what you want to happen on your cutting mat and then you can hide the card layer you created in Design Space and it should come out pretty close.
