Shop Accessories. I did not notice any lack of suction from my harbor freight dust collector. I am satisfied with the unit. I had a poor functioning formed dust separation can top which reduced suction in my system.

There is no need to purchase a higher priced kit. I wind up with no chips in the shopvac, just the fine dust. Pretty amazing, and so much better than letting that jointer cast chips and dust everywhere. I needed this to remove large chips since my 1 hp wall mount dust collector brings the air through the impeller. I mounted this on top of a typical tall metal 30 gallon barrel and basically followed directions.

The 30 gallon barrel also is small in my shop and light enough to empty easily. No real amount of sawdust gets into the bag at this point. It works well at a much lower cost than other solutions.

I put it on a 60 gallon container. Great separation, great value, easy to install and set up. But i ended up using the dust deputy instead. Installed in my eagle mb blue high density polyethylene lab pack drum with metal lever-lock lid, 14 gallon. Makes a great 2-stage dust collector. Put these in a 50 gallon cardboard drum and they work great.

Glad i did this instead of trying to cobble pvc together. It was easy to install, i recommend adding silicone in between the flanges for a better seal.

I just upgraded my dust right vacuum from the stock 30 micron bag to the 1 micron filter. I also bought this fulton dust separator cyclone barrel kit. After i finished i had a little bit of dust in the bag and when i opened the barrel i was shocked the amount of material that was in the drum.

This will make clean up easier. I can see that if one were to use a 5 gallon orange bucket it would not work well, because there is just not enough room for the chips to settle before being sucked back out.
