Open source hardware equipment and machinery projects are also gaining traction. First, there is testing equipment that is sophisticated and highly capable. Next, there is medical equipment that can be categorized as field-grade (at best) for scenarios with no other option. These projects are outlined in detail below. To learn more, I spoke with Jason Huggins, founder and CEO of Chicago-based Tapster Robotics.
