Failure to use tile adhesive may result in the failure of the strips to adhering permanently. Make sure your tiles are flat and any adhesive that has oozed out between the cracks has been cleaned up.

If your tiles have been up for a while, take some time to clean the area that the strips will be applied to. The decorative strips should be butted up to one another.
