I works on a similar principle but instead of the cam coming in direct contact with the material being machined it simply presses against a 3mm piece of MDF which then clamps the material.

The idea here was my part was already cut to size the cam clamp would mark the edges of the material. Because I want to be able to do quite a few of these, one after the other, it needs to be a simple as possible use but would lend itself to many other uses.
