What I really like about the saw is that it comes with easy-to-set ceramic guides. Although the 14|12 is more affordable than Laguna’s bigger, professional bandsaws, it is still a premium product. This can be seen from the build quality. The wheels are made from cast iron, as is the table, and it uses Laguna’s famous ceramic blade. The 14/Twelve, the company’s first volt bandsaw, offers the features Laguna has been known for—powerful motors, ceramic blade guides, easy and precise adjustments—at a price comparable to other 14" resaw machines. With a motor strong enough to power through oak and ash at the full resaw capacity of 12", this saw impressed me by never wavering more than 1/64" during those cuts.  I tested this machine outfitted with the optional lamp ($99) and mobile base ($). The bottom door hits the fence, so the fence must be moved out of the way for the door to open fully. Obviously those people have never used this saw. I bought this guy on a whim after I got fed up with making do with crappy second hand underpowered saws.

I walked into the store and asked for the best band saw they sold, I walked out 10 minutes later with this. I have cut 8" thick red oak and 6" thick cherry albeit slowly but with arrow straight results. The blade guides took some getting used to and require some different setup than the traditional roller bearings I was used to.

The blade guides to produce the occasional spark, but apparently this is nothing to worry about and gets better with time. To begin with I was worried I would be required to replace the ceramic guides but over a years worth of use and other than cosmetic marks I see no need to replace them in the near future.

The table is very large and offers a great sturdy work surface, which is great but the weight and dimension of it make it difficult to remove for setting up blade guides. You have to feed the blade through the narrow slot then rotate the table 90 degrees while holding it at an angle.

The kinda odd " blade size has offered some difficulty with finding replacement blades but they're not impossible to find. I would recommend avoiding the Laguna brand Laguna 14 Bandsaw 14 Twelve React regular steel blades, I've purchased them a few times what with the availability of the " but they are far inferior to Timberwolf which easily offer 4x the operating life.
