Verified Purchase. This seemed like such an awesome idea when I found it but I had to return it since the readings were highly inaccurate and not repeatable. It would be one thing if it were a calibration error but it's not since it is not a consistent error.

The best measurements that I could get were right on but it usually took a few tries to get the digital reading to match what I knew was the dimension of the item being measured. First try was almost always quite a bit over dimension and running it back a forth seemed to get closer to correct.

The inconsistency makes this not a tape measure that anybody could rely on. Darn shame, I had such hopes for ease of use and not having to squint to see the lines on my Etape Digital Tape Measure Quick tape. I have been doing a lot of finish work that involves inside measurements in closets and other hard to reach spaces.

So the idea of a tape with a locking digital readout had a lot of appeal. BUT: 1. It seems to be constant so it could be corrected for, but still annoying. I really like this product. My friends liked it so much I have given 2 away and ordered a 3rd for me to use. Love mine bought traveling case separately and has been worth it. Dropped many times a still looks and works perfectly. Works as describe but has frozen on me a couple of times, had to take battery out to reset it.

A little flimsy on the LCD screen would not want to drop it!
