The blades need to be adjusted out of the box. I tried using a magnetic jig I made from a youtube video but the base is aluminum so it didn’t work. It took a lot of work but I finally got the blades straight and adjusted properly and it works great. Don’t trust the alignment out of the box!!! ✔ Yes  They also make Dewalt! Anyway read reviews for the Porter Cable and apply them to this jointer/planer. For the price point on this jointer im very happy so far. Don't know about long-term but today worked well.
