Stephanie Hulings on February 17, at am. Floating bed frame, with tools and detailed steps. Thanks in advance. Knots are very dense, making them hard to drill and cut through. Shanty2Chic on February 20, at am. Sharla N Sometimes-Eric on February 17, at pm.

I used my K3 mounted to a board to make my pocket holes. I used a new fav stain color on my bed. Now putting it together… This was something I did enlist lots of help on. My hubby and his friend moved the headboard in first. After that I did the same to the footboard. Finally, I cut all of the planks to run under the mattress.

These all use a block under them to support the weight of the mattress. I will say… This is not a super advanced build by any means. All of the cuts are straight and many are the same.

I would say it is very labor intensive. The large metal ampersand magnet board can be found HERE! The mirrors are from Diy Wood King Bed Frame 50 Hobby Lobby as well as the hooks I used to hang them.

Wayfair carries one that is very similar and super cute HERE! How well does this hold up if you need to dismantle and move? Can you reuse the same pocket holes without compromising the wood? The plans for this is super confusing. I think you guys need to go back and edit some things and make it to be the actual exact measurement. Also possibly labeling A-Z pieces because some of the colors are off as well….

Also pocket holes are misleading. We used two different pocket hole drill bits older version vs new version and they were different lengths so telling us which size to use ends up messing it up a lot because your pocket hole could be different than ours. Good start to do this but a lot of confusion. This is how a lot of big manufacturers make their beds so its easy to put together. Can I simply subtract 16 inches from all width measurements to make this work for a queen size bed?

I just want to make sure there are no other issues that I am missing. How heavy is this bed? Can it fit through a regular door frame? My big hesitation with trying to duplicate this is the fact that we will have to move in a few years….

I love the stain. Am I able to make this as just a headboard or use measurements and not have the wooden slats? Our bed needs to sit in the frame from tempurpedic and the wooden would just be kinda built around it. My husband is just finishing up this bed!! Beautiful work! Any chance you will be building a dresser? Love the bed! I have been thinking of building is a new bed for our room but I am struggling roth not having matching dressers.

What do you do as far as dressers and other furniture in the room. Try to match it? Go country white? Any suggestions? Painting is a great option and fun way to split it up if you are unable to match the finish. Another option would be to paint the dresser and add a stained plank top to match the finish on the bed… Just some ideas!

I so want to build this! I was going to buy a king bed, but this is better! I just got done building a castle bed for my daughters , so I know I can do this.

Beautiful bed!!! I sent my friend the link for her husband to check it out. I just have a quick question. Where did you get the mirrors above your bed?? Thank you! Thank you so much for sharing your plans on this bed and all the other great items you have built. I bet its an awesome feeling to stand back and say WOW!

I built that with my own hands. Thank you Jesus for giving me insight and the ability to use my hands to built and create. Keep up the great work.

You got Diy Wood King Bed Frame 82 it Mary! We are so thankful for this blessing that God has given us and even more grateful for the opportunities He has given us to share it all with you guys.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words this morning. They mean so much! I actually finally finished building the queen. I worked off this plan and Ana Whites farmhouse bed for measurements.

Great place to learn how to make it yourself much much cheaper. This may be an incredibly stupid question but how would it be possible to do this with the box spring and still get the same look and height?

Hello, This bed is excellent. After making two of them for her room, I can assure you that this tutorial is one of the most well done and easy to follow.

Perhaps this is not surprising, considering the source, Home Depot , but I am now a bigger fan of the hardware store than I was previously, now that they have started supplying me with free DIY tutorials and videos.

In appreciation, I picked up my wood from the nearby Home Depot store, and they even precut some of the pieces for me at no charge. Love, love, love this idea for DIY twin beds for children or adults. Build a house, indeed. When it comes to decorating the master bedroom, and especially when you have a king sized or larger bed, the bedframe needs to make a statement, since it is a large focal point in the room. This DIY poster bed fits the bill perfectly when you are looking for an awesome statement bedframe to put in your room.

Crafted from wood and stained dark like the photo or light if you prefer, this sturdy wooden bed is sure to last many, many years to come. I am certain it only gets better with age, too. I also really want this beautiful quilt Jaime shows on the bed! After the move, my teenage boys ended up with room for bigger beds. I was thrilled to be able to get rid of the too small twin beds until I started pricing the cost of new queen sized beds and dressers.

My budget simply could not accomodate the expense. What to do? I had the best time with this project. I am such a dang rookie when it comes to building things. This bed was a kick in the pants fun time for me. The challenge and best part was learning how to use the pocket jig. I chose to use pine for my bed. I just had a new home built and have been using the color espresso as my accent color for furniture. So I bravely stained away at each board and watched the wood transform before my eyes.

I was smiling from ear to ear with the results. Thank you for the amazing plans and the joy you brought to my new home. My bed looks so rich and professionally done. The dark espresso color just pops and shines! So excited to try this build! Would you be able to help me on the measurements for a full. I have tried the math a couple times but I am fairly sure I am doing it wrong. I took off 6 inches from the measurements but saw your reply above about not removing the 6 inches from the verticals and now I have confused myself more.

Height should be same! This is the one I plan to build. Thanks for this tutorial. Just built the frame for a king sized mattress and laying on it for the third night so far. Makes things so easy. Hi, very nice guide by the way. People would be forever grateful if you could make public plans for a solid inclined bed frame. Great design, both simple and elegant.

Does that make sense? Which is correct? Love this bed so much! I was wondering if I could get the download for this? Looking for a fun new project this weekend :. Hi Ananda. My wife saw these plans and wanted me to make this bed for us. I bought all the materials at the beginning of COVID, but have just recently made my cuts and am finishing sanding.

Taking out the 3. Does this mean the frame sticks out 1. Enjoying putting this together, as well as all the great questions from everyone! Hello, is it possible to make this platform bed without the headboard?

I have a carved room divider that I put up flat against the wall as a headboard behind my current bed. Amanda, thank you for the inspiration and all your work to prepare your plans and sharing them! I also added two side panels with bed-lights that hang on each side of the bed with floating shelves, and used the same beetle kill wood as the headboard.

Can you please share the picture. I am planning something similar for the Floating shelves for the Full bed I am planning for my son. So the picture will be helpful. Can I use a full plywood sheet instead of slats? Thoughts on that please. I see mixed comments about using plywood sheet vs plywood slats. Is it possible to make taller posts for twin Diy Wood Bed Frame King Size size bed? Any limit on height? I am all done measuring and cutting, getting ready to drill.

Any other thoughts on screw type, aside from length, for attaching the brackets? How much space is there between the bottom of the bed and the floor? Could you fit those long plastic containers under it for storage? First, thank you so much for sharing your plans for this bed!

We made one for ourselves with a slightly different twist on the headboard and we LOVE it!! Goes so well with our decor and looks like it should have cost way more than it did! I do have a question for you.

Over time we are dealing with a LOT of squeaking in the joints. It squeaks loudly even when we just sit down on it. We also used Douglas fir. At one point, I did take the slats off and took the side rails off to tighten all the screws to see if that would help. So far, nothing we have done has helped with the squeaking.

Do you have any ideas for us to try? So your bed is pushed up against the wall?? We do not have our headboard touching the wall. But you are thinking that maybe using the wall as support could help with the squeaking??

Did it! Thanks for the plan! I really appreciate you sharing all the details and great tips in this fabulous DIY bed tutorial! Thanks so much for posting this detailed tutorial! Do you happen to know whether this plan is sturdy enough to also hold a boxspring?

Hey, Ananda! Should save us a few hundos! Hi there, I wanted to share my experience with making the frame. We made it for a king bed and elected to make it without a headboard. Unfortunately once we sat on the bed the plywood broke underneath!

Great plans. I just finished making a king frame and I love it. I stained all of the wood with Minwax Jacobean stain, and love how it turned out. Thanks for sharing this!

Kind of crude but the supports were made from extra 2x2s, and I just drilled them right into the rails with 2 inch screws. I took a couple of weeks off at the end of last year to make a queen size version of this bed. In true DIY fashion, we made a few modifications to the plan to suit our taste. Thank you for taking the time to make such an awesome tutorial and keeping this available to people like me that would have otherwise never have attempted to make a project like this.

We love the results! Hi Ananda, Do you have a complete list of materials you used for this project types of screws, etc. Thanks in Advance! Your email address will not be published. Hi Ananda, Love the bedrame and headboard, thank you for sharing your design! Has anyone had success with using a full sheet of plywood instead of slats?

You are an inch short. What size screws did you use?
