I own a DeWalt planer, miter saw, table saw, multiple sanders , but this one didn't fit the bill. This one is going back. I will try another because the tool is very easy to use, and the price is right.

From other 1-star reviews for the DWK, you'll find my experience is not an isolated incident. Images in this review. Overall alignment was just off and it had some slop in it. Very disappointed. Please look at customers pictures because this seems to be a trend.. The grab handle is attached to the motor. You need to control the platen to keep it flush on the reference service, and up against the work piece being cut.

You can't apply ANY pressure to keep it up against the workpiedce, because the handle is attached to the motor, which is a totally worthless place to attach it. The motor moves to plunge the cutting blade, and you already have that in your other hand. You don't need two hands on the motor. You need one on the motor, and one controlling the platen.

The only brand that does this correctly, is the Festool. But the prices for those are asinine! Also, the dust collector bag is useless. There is no internal fan to push the dust into the bag. And the vacuum hose attachment fitting is a disaster. It is an angled, swivel. It is always in the wrong position. It should just come straight back, and be fixed. The swivel is always putting the hose in a bad position, especially when you want to put the tool down on the bench.

The hose is forever in the way when doing that, and usually pops the adapter off, or it separates at the swivel. Its a perpetual PITA! I don't usually write reviews but felt I had to on this product. Very poor performance. Tried adjusting but found housings had to much clearance that allowed misfit issues. Sending back for refund and hopefully different brand with better results.

I'm a hard core dewalt guy and very disappointed in this product. I bought this August and have used it 3 times on small shop projects. No more than 40 or 50 individual cuts. On it's 4th time out of the case I was adjusting the height of cut and the top right corner of the fence snapped off.

Not a plastic part, the alleged metal fence, so the height adjustment doesn't work anymore. I have seen plastic on toys that was more durable. Tried the next day. Same thing. Hint: I checked my spam box as well. Well, I got an email. BUT, it wasn't the shipping label and form. The email gave me a case number, which is the same case number that webpage gave me when I filled out the form online and it said the product isn't eligible for repair, and to use that case number for any future inquiries.
