GitHub provides webhooks to send HTTP requests to remote services when some action is performed inside the repository. This action could be the generation of an issue, generation of the pull requests or almost anything that can be done to or inside a GitHub repository. We can configure a remote service to run unit tests when the repository gets a pull request for the production branch. This service will return the result of the tests which would be very helpful for GitHub to display a message whether or not it is safe to merge those changes.
