One of the first things I learned was my saw, equipped with the factory wheels, is easily tipped. It hasn't fallen over but it could easily happen if you're not aware. The Laguna 1 3/4 horse motor has not slowed down on any cut of any material or size. I still want the 3hp, but only, it seems, to satisfy my macho side. So, big picture, it's an excellent saw.  Blade changes are adequately simple. Fence system works fine even though its fairly minimal design. The motor is A+ #1. Wheel adjustments and blade tension are easy and precise. In addition to solid resaw performance, the also works well at cutting curves, as the Laguna Guides steer the blade and minimize deflection while the work piece is steered through the cut. The project in the picture is a cutting board that I like to make by stacking two boards and cutting the pattern on a band saw.  I encountered some minor hiccups during the setup of the that I could have worked through on my own, but when I am writing a story on a stationary tool I like to get some exposure to the customer service for the company.  I must replace my 9″ benchtop band saw with a full size saw. I have liked at both the Rikon and the Laguna 14/ I have read some very negative comments on critical issues with the Rikon, especially with adjustment for the lower bearing guides.

It's a non-issue. There's a LARGE number of places online and in most medium to large cities that buy bandsaw blades as GIANT reels of blade material and then cut and weld to your specs when you buy a blade.
