When adjusting this saw, begin by making sure that your square is actually square. When all the adjustments are complete, with the help of a stop block, make a crosscut in a board that is 24 inches wide. The saw will only cut across it 12 inches. After you're done, turn the board around, putting it back up against the stop block, make another cut.

If the saw is adjusted correctly, both cuts will line up exactly. Like with using any tool, when operating this radial saw, "know how" knowledge is the key. Take the time to read "know how" literature about it. Purchase videos and learn the basics about it. Of course the miter saw is portable and this radial arm saw really isn't. The saw repeats fairly well. The laser track device is mounted on the arbor in place of the outboard washer. It works very well, making a bright sharp laser line on the outboard side of the kerf. I have found that if I place my cut line just to the inside edge of the laser I will get a perfect cut every time. And since the laser is mounted on the arbor with the blade, there are no adjustments to make on it and it cannot be knocked out of alignment from the blade.

Sears sent a tech, under warranty, to repair the saw but the parts he needed are no longer available and no longer stocked by Sears.

This saw has been misrepresented by Sears Craftsman? The owner? It came with a one year repair warranty that Sears cannot honor because critical repair parts are no longer available for my less than a year old saw. Sears says no refund and no repair but I can trade for an identical saw with the same inherent problems.

Growing up and watching my father use a radial arm saw, I have always wanted one of my own. My has passed my my brother inherited the saw. This saw is far superior.
