It just never showed up when new songs did.

Every place I would go to, though, I would check. Nobody ever had it. Sweet Transvestite - from Rocky Horror. Works well on Halloween, works well in a gay bar on karaoke night.

Bohemian Rhapsody for sure. Who doesn't enjoy switching between choir and solo - then playing air guitar? And then everyone lets out a collective sigh of relief after you're done with your 6 minute butchering of Freddie Mercury.

The whole point of this thread is determining what is and is not a good karaoke song. Criticizing a choice is essential. I've just seen enough awful renditions of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' done by wasted people to not want to witness it anymore.

This isn't a song, but I feel that it is appropriate here. Everyone in your group must also think of the most cringe worthy, worst song of all time, write that down and shuffle them into another hat. Pick a name and song from the shuffled pieces of paper and whose ever alias was picked must go up and sing the picked song.

I think one of my favorite memories from band is when we competed in a parade in Ireland around St. Patrick's day. Another band played Sweet Caroline, and our band sung the chorus while they played. Everyone else was, like, "Stupid, loud Americans. One Week by Barenaked Ladies. If you make it through both verses without stumbling too much, you're guaranteed a few free drinks. I stopped believing in that song long ago. I would like to do Chandelier but I hate Sia and everything about her and that awful other song she made about a stretchy heart or something. Plus Shia was in the music video and he obviously has better things to do than that. And it gets stuck in my head even though i don't like the song.

Fuck Sia. Every word of Chandelier, maybe. I actually likes it. But the other one i barely understamd, and something around the background track just makes me unexplainably angry.

It sounds almost human but it isn't, it's some uncanny valley shit. It's so popular that Philippines banned it due to fights breaking out from disagreements to which version is the best.

I was surprised to find out that the original lyrics to the song were French. The title was "Come d'habitude". Pinnacle of karaoke songs. One male and one female, the back and forth between them is brilliant to watch, and also kind of a funny song. Well this of course. Bonus if you are playing for a predominantly military crowd. I have 2 songs that normally go over pretty well. The first is Minnie the Moocha by Cab Calloway, as featured towards the end of the Blues Brothers most people know this song and engage in the audience participation just as im the movie.

I've also had a good deal of success with Lustra's song Scotty Doesn't Know, as featured in Eurotrip. There is a reason why everyone likes to cover it. It's super fun to sing, has a swear word scandalous!!! Can be tricky to sing though. Also super fun to sing on rock band. Yesterday - The Beatles I've been on several cruises that all used this song quite often in a karaoke mix and every time the crowd went wild.

He was in a bar on a cruise ship when this guy took the stage and did what he considers the best version of "Monster Mash" he has ever heard in his life. My buddy said it was obvious that the guy had done it over times in his life. He was nailing down all the voices and at the end everyone gave him a standing ovation. Drop It Like It's Hot. These are the songs I typically look for when I go karaoke, there's more but I can't remember all of them right now.

I also used to sort-of compete in a weekly competition they would have down at my then-local. I've been told many many times I'm a fantastic singer and actually got recruited by a garage band that witnessed my ability one time, although that fell apart because the bass player and drummer were lazy shits. Also, "Africa" by Toto tends to be the last-ish song of the night always, when everyone is good and toasted, for a full-bar sing-along.

Foundations- Build Me Up Buttercup. I guess I have a fondness toward goofy 90s hits. I'm so surprised mine's not on here! Every time I walk into "my" karaoke bar I was a regular in college Both need a lot of commitment to be done "right" but I always get a big kick out of it.

The screams and such are right there in my natural range so I can really belt them out. Especially after several Rumplemintz shots. So Cold - Breaking Benjamin. Last night we did some Karaoke, I sang, I would do anything for love - Meatloaf!! What a fun night :P.

I usually start with Ziggy Stardust to warm up. Then it just goes randomly. Mostly 90's alternative. Sometimes boy band stuff if I'm "fun" drunk. If I need one I know I can knock out of the park every time I'm a petite, fairly quiet "good girl" Awwww yeahhhh! Vanessa Cartlon - Thousand Miles. Trap Karaoke Songs - these are songs that people think are easy, but they've clearly forgotten something, and you can watch them crash and burn on stage: Creep - Radiohead - everyone remembers the "I'm a creep" part, but forgets the four minutes of falsetto wailing that only Thom Yorke can get away with Unchained Melody - everyone remembers the low part, but again, not the falsetto Living on a Prayer - gets super high, AND has a key change Now I want to go do karaoke EDIT: formatting, and typos.
