Our 1 day introductory woodturning course is designed to get you on the lathe and teach you the basics of woodturning. The course runs on advertised weekends from 9am to 5pm, or by arrangement.. The course is organised so that each stage is demonstrated first, and then guidance is offered as you proceed. The aim is to make several projects that you can finish ready to take home. The woodturning courses at Woody’s Place offer an exciting day of designing and then shaping a woodturning blank into your piece of art on the lathe. Spinning tops, vases, bowls; functional or arty – you get to take your creativity home with you as a one-off memento. If you’re after a multi-day activity, why not try your hand at one of our woodworking classes. A basic 3- 4 hour one on one course is excellent as a starter for those interested in trying the craft for the first time. The introductory course will cover basic aspects of woodturning from tool sharpening to lathe skills. You will be able to make up to 4 items to keep during this course such as bowls and plates etc from native or exotic woods.
