The two clasps that secure the basket to the shelf above are NOT flat. They have a rounded top that affects the stability of whatever you'd want to put on the shelf above the clasps. The interior is laid out so only one trash can can fit inside when if it were turned you could fit two. I have a kitchen trash pull out in this same size that fits 2 bins - one trash and one recycling. I’m going to have to have the interior customized and purchase a pull-out track so i can fit a single larger bin for laundry.
