They are not laminated but they are made of good, old Sheffield steel. Their unlaminated carbon steel blades are good too, easily sharpened to an impressively sharp edge. The reason for leaving a review is that the handle is a very poor piece of work. It had deep tool marks and no finish. Plan on spending a couple of hours cleaning up and finishing this one. It did finish well after few coats of oil. Buy the blades, make a handle. When i received my shipment i found that the cardboard box that had contained my order was a little damaged in one of the corners.
