I agree with your wife on this one, Tiled counter tops are not desirable at all. Cleaning the grout is such a hassle. Can I suggest concrete Laminate Edge Trimmer Bit 90 counter tops? If you're not used to doing work with the dremel where u have to hold it and be accurate I would'nt try it, although you can get a router bit and attachment for it that would be the equivalent of just a router, so it you get the necessary attachments I don't see why you can't use the dremel.

The dremel tool does not have the horse power or the rpm to do the job. The bit will burn the edge. You can rent a laminate trimmer. You will need a bit with a roller bearing,so you don't burn the laminate.

That is not the best solution, but Dremel produces a "router" attachment that will give you much better results.
