AS-IS, condition. The motor spins up quickly and sounds strong when it's turned on. It has a very light accompanying sound. Like a very light rattle, that an old used motor might, but it's nothing that suggests to me that it has reached the end of its life. One of the two clamp handles spins very easily. The other is quite difficult to turn. I put in a bit of oil which helped some.

But it's still fairly stiff. I don't see an obvious bend in the rod or note any other obvious damage. The thread wear looks consistent with what's on the other, easier handle. I do see old wood dust Everything else that moves looks to be free and to move properly. I do note a small broke section at the first casting below each clamping handle see pictures with my finger pointing to breaks I don't know how significant this is to the operation of this mortiser.
