It has never deflated unintentionally unless overinflated. In use, care needs to be taken to avoid excessive heat, but using the correct grit usually minimizes the sanding time and temperature. I haven't tried any other sanding systems because this one has always worked for me. I'm going to check into the buffing system as well. It would be great if the ball would stay inflated. The paper keeps sliding off, even when I give it two pumps.
