Only the Ryobi gets the mix just right at an affordable price. It offers much of the same as the Ryobi: an expansive selection of general-use bits and a wide variety of driver bits. However, it lacks hole saws, drill stops, and a countersink, all of which the Ryobi has. Otherwise, the two sets are pretty even on price and part quality. The piece set is a smaller version of our main pick. It has all the same essentials but in smaller quantities.

This caused the bit to disengage from the screw and chatter as it spun. It would be a mistake to go into this purchase thinking that your needs in the driver bit department are permanently solved. Inwe tested the Craftsman piece Drilling and Driving Kit, which has since been discontinued. We also tested two pro-level kits, the Milwaukee and the Bosch T which has since become unavailable. These are decent kits, but very incomplete when placed next to the Ryobi. Because the pro manufacturers assume that a carpenter will have a designated hole saw kit, spade bits, and countersink, these sets had only drill bits and driver bits the Milwaukee also had a couple of nut drivers.
