Bed frame repair problem. Thread Tools. Hello all, Last night I received Build Your Own Poster Bed Frame a rather nasty surprise. I sat down on my bed and nearly found myself thrown to the floor as one of the wooden lips that holds the frame's slats had broken off when I sat on it. The frame has been in use by me for some eight years and no problems until now. I'm reluctant to get a new frame, money being somewhat tight and all.

I was hoping that it would be possible to enact my own repairs. The wooden lip is still intact, while the screws on each end remain safe. The middle screw split in half during the fall, with one piece still stuck in the bed frame until I take the pliers to it. I've considered trying to get a new screw to replace the one in the middle and applying something like wood glue to the lip.

I would also use Gorilla glue. That stuff works great on repairs like what you're doing.

At the least I hope to screw the peace in with three screws as it originally was, along with some gorilla glue. I sleep alone in the bed so hopefully any sort of fix I make will hold up for quite a while, as I would hate to be rousted out of deep sleep by a sudden dramatic shift in gravity!
